AB de Villiers reveals what he told Virat Kohli after his average performance in India-England Test series

Kohli made 172 runs in the four Tests with just an average of 28.66.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are known to be best friends. Both the batsmen are two of the best in world and have grown closer to each other while playing in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In a recent interaction, De Villiers revealed that Kohli had reached out to him after having an average series with the bat against England in Tests.

The former Proteas batsman further said that he was watching Virat for sometime and wanted to share four tips with him. He said that as soon as Kohli reached out to him, he knew that he just had to remind him of the basic stuff. AB de Villiers then took out his phone to reveal what he exactly said to Kohli.

“I don’t want to say. It’s embarrassing. I think I mentioned four points. We spoke about a couple of things away from the game and then also a couple of technical things but it was very basic,” the South African superstar said in a video posted on RCB’s official Twitter handle.

“Four points — see the ball, still head, allow the ball to come into your space, body language and attitude. And then we sort of elaborated around those four points,” said De Villiers. RCB have got to a dream start in the IPL winning their first two matches against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kohli made 172 runs in the four Tests with an average of 28.66. The conditions throughout the series were not so ideal for batting. He started the T20I series with a duck, but quickly turned around his fortune in the next four matches. He scored a total of 231 runs in the five-match series at an average of 115.50 and followed it up with 129 runs in the ODI series.
